Together Again

I can just see them in Heaven just like this! :o) It was sad news to here that Pres. Hinckley had died but happy at the same time knowing that he was with his sweetheart again.

Routine

So I think I am finally getting into this stay at home mom thing. It's taken a little BUT it's good - I like it. My days are going by faster and I have Dylan in a routine so that I can schedule my day even more - it is nice. :)
This week Ty is gone! He actually left last night and won't be back till Sat. afternoon. I miss him. Last night was the worst - I did my routine of going to bed - and when I was suppose to fall asleep - I was still awake. So I got Timber and he laid next to me - still awake. So - I made a baby bed on Ty's side went and got Dylan, held him for a little, then laid him by me - I was out like a light. I'm sure by the time Ty get's back I'll be so use to him not being there that it will throw me off even more!
Lots of fun!

Waking Up

Waking up is what I've been trying to do for the last few weeks. I've had a nasty sinus infection/junk that has really taken it's toll on me. I got it I think from taking Dylan outside so much when he had the croup. I've been stubborn and not went to the Dr's saying that I will be strong. BUT wow - this sickness is really kicking my butt. Every time I think I'm getting better - I'll get this HUGE headache along with a fever and I'll be right back where I started. It makes me want to sit in a hot tub all day - or sleep - maybe the combination of the two :).
It's to the point that I haven't really done the laundry in a LONG time, taken a shower before 11 am, done both my hair and make-up in one day, and biggest of all I haven't written my New Year Resolution's (which I always do).

I think I just need to force myself out of this and I'll be ok - cross your fingers for me.

In other news.......

I did cut my hair (gasp) I know - it was actually getting really long. BUT it was falling out like crazy - like I was going through Chemo crazy. I thought that cutting it short would help. All it has helped with is the clean up - instead of long hairs to clean up - they are short. I like it to right now. A little less to deal with each day.
Here are a few fun pic's I've taken. My little webcam is a good entertainer when I have my nephews over.

Babysitter!

That is my new professional calling lately! It's been fun - I need to get more energy somehow. I never thought kids could suck that much out of you in such short amount of time!

BUT I thought I would post some pic's of the little girl I watch every Tuesday!
Her name is Aubrey! And she is so dang cute. She is 2 weeks older then Dylan and already crawling and pulling her self up on things. I am not jealous of her mom - she is on guard all the time!

Dylan and Aubrey played so good together. She would CRY AND CRY until she saw him! They are best friends now.

The Next Generation

So this weekend we got my brother-in-law addicted to Guitar Hero. It really is addicting and I only alow myself to play it when I have a hour. It really sucks you in. Well - they thought it would be funny to get Dylan to try it out.

Dylan was so excited - it was too cute!In other news Timber is doing A LOT better - back on all fours and getting back into the groove of everthin! I am very happy! And I got a camera for Christmas and it has tthis fun panaramic mode on it! So this is part of my house. Ty was on the computer trying to get the cheat codes for guitar hero! I think he's addicted to.

Happy New Year!

For New Years Ty and I went up to Jackson Hole, WY. It was a lot of fun! We didn't know if we were going to make it up there at first. BUT a year ago we had promised ourselves that we would have a better new years then we did last year (we were in the hospital) so we braved the roads and went over to WY. The road we needed shut down so we ended up going thru Rexburg - 7 hours later we got there!
We took Timber with us - he had been acting a little funny and we didn't want to leave him. And I'm glad we didn't. He has hurt his back some how and for a day wouldn't walk on his hind legs - would just drag them behind him. He's gotten better to the point that he can walk on all fours - but he is still having a hard time. I take him in tomorrow to the vet! Everyone cross your fingers that they can fix him quick and easy!
Dylan had so much fun meeting his 2nd family. My friend Kirsten's family that is. They all consider me part of the family! We have a running joke that her parents sold me on the black market! ;) We took up the whole 6th floor at the Snow King Resort. This is Missy, Dylan, and Me! Missy wanted to take the pic like this with her "cousin" and me! Dylan didn't quite know what to do!
Missy also wanted a pic with Uncle Ty! She absolutely LOVED Ty!
More fun! Just hanging out in Granny and Poppie's room. We got to watch the Torch Light Parade down the hill - and also the fireworks afterwards all from the warm inside and not the negative cold outside!
On our way home we stopped in Idaho Falls and saw Nicky! It was so fun to sit and chat awhile! Makes me miss Idaho! (sigh)
I love new years - always feels like I have a new start at life! Hope everyone else had a great holiday!

Eventful!

That word truly describes our lives the past little while. But then again this time of year always is for us - for some reason.
Here are some pic's from our Christmas. Seeing that it was Dylan's first we mostly took pic's of him.

Even though he liked the wrapping paper more then most of his presents it was really fun to be as a family and open presents.

Dylan actually got really sick after these pic's were taken and on Christmas Day we ended up in the e.r. He was one little sick man. BUT he is soooo strong. He has only cried when it's been really bad.

In other news Timber got a girlfriend. This is Milly! <- I'm thinking named after Hannah Montana (gag!) But if everything goes as planned we should have puppies by the end of Feb. *cross fingers*

This is really the tip of the iceberg of things that have happened in our neck of the woods. I just wanted to post a little info - just to let everyone know that we haven't been kidnapped! Hope everyone is having a great holiday season!

Much Love to Everyone from the Thiel's!

2 Weeks Notice

Yup you've read right - I offically put in my 2 weeks notice and will soon be a 75% stay at home mom. Ty and I really did sit down and talk, pray, and sleep on it. It was a really hard decision - but after making it - we have felt really good about it and things have come about that will make it ALOT easier to happen. I am excited but scared at the same time. Now I will be expected to be Super Mom! Which I hope to be. And I might just take up some extra hobbies to keep me busy. While at home I'm going to be babysitting my friend Melissa's little girl Aubrey - that was born 2 weeks before Dylan! It is going to be fun. I'm going to need A LOT of advise from my fellow stay at home moms as to how to stay sane! :o)

ALSO - Timber is getting a girlfriend this weekend! YEAH!!!!! He really does need it - and if things go good - we will have the pick of the litter! So anyone looking for a really cute Beagle Puppy - just let me know!

OH and Christmas is almost here - Has it snuck up on everyone else as well? I still have tons of shopping to do - maybe I will go with Nicky and just buy everyone socks! ;o)

Old Man Winter

Time has flown by......yet again and it is Wintertime here in Utah and at the Thiel residence. We've got the tree up and decorated, stockings hung, and even some presents under the tree. I LOVE this time of year.
This weekend we got dumped on. That is we got TONS of snow. Saturday was my company christmas party - but they were having it up in Midway - which means we would of had to go through the canyon (very scary in the winter time). They often close it down due to bad weather. So we ended up not going for fear we would get there but not back! But we did spend the night talking, playing games, and enjoying being a family.
It's amazing how relaxing this time of year is - BUT also how very stressful it is. Maybe that is why we have so many Christmas carols - to distract us from the stress! :o) All in all - I hope everyone else is having as much fun as we are getting in the spirit of the season!

Thanksgiving!

I survived! It was touch and go for a little but I pulled through - and I lived to tell my story! :) It was a busy weekend for our little family! It started last Tuesday when my sister dropped off her "puppy" and headed for San Diego. Well her puppy isn't really a puppy! You see - it's a Great Dane Puppy!
This is Dylan riding her :) She was such a good visitor! Her and Packer were best buds and hated being separated.
They were soo cute! ANY WHO - I volunteered to cook Thanksgiving Dinner ( I know I'm crazy)! I had a turkey voucher and sent Ty to the store to use it. He came home with a 17 lbs turkey! This thing was huge and took FOREVER to cook! It turned out great and we now have TONS of leftovers! We had my mom and my sister Lucretia over for dinner! It was really nice - and really yummy!
The day after I did do a little shopping - got me a new purse and Ty and new coat! Got great deals on both! :)
Then after A LOT of talking Ty and I decided that we should sale Packer - we had, had him listed but had ignored all the calls we got on him - till this weekend. We decided that we didn't have the time that he needed to be trained. And so on Sunday a good family from SLC bought him. They have a fenced back yard and 3 kids - I'm sure he is being loved to pieces. It's really silly how attached I get to animals. It was a good decision but I miss him. And so does Timber - it's really sad :(
Now back to reality - till next month when Christmas and New Years hits us! It was fun to have the time off and be a mom and wife! I could get use to it! Hope everyone elses Thanksgiving weekend was as good as ours!

Two Teeth and Sweet Potatoes

It's crazy watching Dylan grow! And this week has been a big week for him. He's started rolling from his back to his stomach - cut his 2nd tooth - AND started eating big boy food! I was probably more excited then he was :) He doesn't seem like the 5 month old that he almost is! Maybe it's because of the fact that he towers over most of the 10/12 month olds he is around. This is his first bite of Sweet Potatoes - he really did like it! By the end of his feeding he was grabbing my hand that was holding the spoon - and shoving it towards his open mouth! :)If you look close you can see his first tooth! Now he has the start of the 2nd right next to his 1st! And boy are they sharp!

Down on the Farm

So this last weekend Ty and I took a long trip up to the middle of no where!

As not fun as I just made it sound - it really was fun! My cousin Brad got married - and since we are the same age and did do some growing up together - I went to show my support! It was a mini reunion and I got to see A LOT of cousin's, aunt's, and uncle's.

We stayed at my Aunt Kayleen's and Uncle Neal's! Which was fun - and relaxing!

I also got to spend a lot of time with my baby - partially because he didn't believe in slepping almost the full time we were there. I've come to the conclusion that I am just going to be tierd for the rest of my life :).......It's worth it!

New Baby!

PACKER TOBIAS BARKLEY
So anyone who knows Ty and I knows that we love our dog Timber! Well lately we have been a little busy with our new baby - and we have felt like Timber feels a little left out. I talked with a few other fellow beagle lovers - and they told me that Tim would probably do good with another dog. So this weekend as I was headed to the store - I saw him! And after talking to his then owner - I got an amazing deal and couldn't say no!!! It's kind of frustrating to start over teaching Packer how to go outside, and how not to bark when we leave. BUT Timber really likes the new company and they play so good together. They do have two very different personalities! Packer is very tender - and all we have to do is say his name in a stearn voice and he runs to his kennel. When Tim was that young we had to do a little more - but he learned - and so will Packer!
Just incase you were wondering he was named after Ty's Hometown team the Green Bay Packers.......big surprise! :)

Happy Halloween

After not being able to find the costumes that I wanted to use for Halloween (the Rubbles) - I decided that we would do the characters from Shrek. Ty would be Shrek - I, Princess Fiona, and Dylan, Baby Shrek. Well 15 min's before I went home from work the day before Halloween I found out that my Administrator was going to come to work as Shrek. I would have been the laugh of the office if I showed up matching him - only because last year we ended up matching!!!! So last night we went in search of costumes - only to find absolutely nothing. At the very last store we went to we did find Dylan's costume (Robin) which worked out nicely because my nephew Taylor was Batman. Here Dylan is flying to come save the day!
He wasn't such the fan of his mask - BUT he looked so cute in it!!!
I on the other hand did not look so cute! Most girls for Halloween try to look pretty and cute. Well not I! Halloween is to scare people - and I think I did a good job. You should of seen the looks the patients were giving me. When I came home, Ty had forgotten that I was dressed up and he thought someone was trying to break into the house! :)
We ended the night by going up to American Fork and going Trick-or-Treating with my nephews. We made it around the block and then decided it was too cold for Dylan to be out. But he did pretty good for his madien voyage! :)

Hope you like this as much as I did!

1st Night

So we have had Dylan's crib for a LONG time. But because of my lazyness he hasn't used it other then a few naps here and there. But after a few hard nights - due to him not really fitting the bassinet - I felt it was time to fix his crib up and put him in there for the first time over night.
I'm not so afraid of how he'll do as much as I'm afraid how I'll do. It's a long walk from my room to his.....hopefully he sleeps and I'll only have to make it once.He looks so little! If I can make it through this first night - I think I'll be fine. I'm kind of scared to see how I'll be when it's his first day of school!
This was just earlier this week - he was just a little tierd I think! ALSO - Dylan has his two lower teeth trying to come in. And because of that he has been druleing like CRAZY! I've been investing in more bibs then actual clothes!

Square One

Not such a bad place to be! ;) AND where I'm thinking about going back to - when I was younger I had HUGE dreams - and I've lately thought about making them a reality.

I am a odd duck....I'll be the first to admit it. One of my little "things" that I like to do - especially on special occasions - is think back a year ago and see what I was doing. I've been doing this A LOT lately since a year ago on Sunday I found out that I was pregnant. WOW - how life changes in just one year!

HALLOWEEN

Sooooooo Halloween is coming up - and I was thinking that it would be fun to do a "family" theme - as far as costumes. I've seen a couple other families do things like this and it always looked so cute! So I'm thinking that we will be The Rubbles from The Flinstones. Seeing that I have dark hair - Ty has blonde. Dylan can be Bam Bam and Timber can be their Tiger they have. BUT before I start looking for the costumes - I was wondering if anyone else had any idea's!

S is for Some Day

Some Day - I would love to be a photographer - and just take pictures ALL DAY LONG. I love taking picture's of beautiful things. Especially this time of year around Utah it is breath taking. They have this drive called the Alpine Loop that takes you up in the mountains - and with all the changeing leaves - it is beautiful! I have this dream though of opening up my own studio! How fun would that be! Until then I will just have to take pic's of my family - and I'm sure they will just love me snapping pic's of everything! ;)

R is for Read

WELL - lately here at the office everyone is talking about this book series.
I guess there are 3 books out and a 4th one coming next Aug. Everyone is talking about how good they are - and I mean EVERYONE. Patients, dr's, co-workers - everyone. One of the girls I was sitting next to was crying while reading it. AND rumor has it that they want to make it into a Movie - and Orlando Bloom is going to have the lead roll!

SOOOOO - if you want to join me in reading this - I am stopping by the Library tonight to pick me up a copy! I will keep you posted on if I think it is as good as everyone says it is.

P is for Provo

Good Ole' Provo - this is where we live. This view is actually just a few blocks up from our house. It's a nice little town - filled with college students, newly weds, and really old people! But Ty and I like it.......for now. Here in the next few months - depending on a few things - we are going to be deciding how much longer we should spend here. AHHHHH decisions! To move or not - and if so - WHERE! We've thought about moving to Idaho - where I'm from. OR moving to Wisconsin where Ty is from. Both places have there advantages and disadvantages. Which makes the decision even harder.
It's crazy cause when I was younger it was so easy to make the decision to move - NOW that I have a family it's a lot harder then I thought it would be. I'm thinking about jobs, housing, school's for Dylan.....the list goes on. BUT either way I will keep all posted of when and where! Wish me luck!

O is for Older and Wiser Too!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TYLER!
(K - so this isn't the most recent pic I have of him - but I am at work and this is the only one I could find!)
So on Friday (Sep 14th) it was my hubbies birthday! 27 years ago he blessed this world! ;) Since he had to work I tried to make it special and took cupcakes to his work for him and all his co-workers. Then that night we went out to eat in SLC at Famous Dave's - Yum Yum! Then on our way back from there we stopped by IKEA - BUT they were closing so all we got to do was drive by and look in the windows. :( SO on Saturday I sent him off to golf and get some quality "Guy Time" in since he has been Mr. Mom with me and my crazy life.
With birthday's I always like to think back where we were a year ago - WOW - life really changes. Here's to another year!

N is for Nervous Breakdown

So I've been busy lately! I can't hide it! There is a lot on my dish right now and it is hard to juggle it all once in a while. Well I hit my breaking point last week. For my home health job I have to drive out to my patient's houses - in the past they were all around the Provo/Orem area so it wasn't all that bad. Well not any more. This last week they set up my schedule that I would drive from Pleasent Grove all the way out to Woodland Hills - which is a 45 min drive.....one way. It was ridiculous that they would have me do it. But since I'm the nice person I am - I did it - trying not to complain. Well that day I had been so I was low on gas. Woodland Hills is out in the middle of no where, my cell phone was almost dead, there were deer running out in front of me, I was running late, AND I had only seen Dylan for like 30 min's. Then if things couldn't get worse - I drive all the way out to Woodland Hills....and my patient had passed away that morning, and no one had told me. OOOOHHHHH if fire and flames could have shot up out of the ground they would of....I was HOT! Then I had to find a gas station that would take a check - because I had forgotten my debit card at home. When I did get home at 9:45pm - I was exhausted - and my baby was already asleep for the night.
Needless to say the next day I had a very LONG talk with the schedule lady - and I bought a planner. Hopefully this will help reduce the craziness of my life because I will remember what I have to do that day and not over book myself without knowing it. *Cross Fingers* that it will work - or I might have another breakdown! ;)

Crazy Fun

Happy Labor Day Weekend! Ty and I don't REALLY get to celebrate - BUT we did get to go up to Logan today and meet up with some of his family! Quite fun! Just thought I would post this pick and say HI! More ABC's coming soon - be sure to check back!

L is for Loosing Weight

So I have less then 10 lbs to go until I am back at my pre pregnancy weight. Grrrrrrr! I need some help. I want to diet and loose weight - but I am still nursing and need to know how far I can go without hurting my "supply"! PLUS I need to hear from all you mom's out there as to WHEN I should work out. It seems near impossible to go to the gym - unless I go at 4 in the morning when baby and hubby are still sleeping. I want to spend all the time I have with Dylan - and so I am feeling a little torn. Sleep vs. Gym - Time with Baby vs. Gym - Time with Hubby vs. Gym - Loosing Weight vs. Sanity. Just a few of my struggles. I NEED YOUR WISDOM!

Kenny!

My Fav Song of his....one of many I should say.

K is for Kenny Chesney

So I can't hide it any longer. I LOVE Kenny Chesney. I know - the girl that use to hate country is now listening to it all the time. I went to Kenny's concert a year ago and that was it. I was hocked. I was about to go to his concert this year when he came to SLC BUT I ended up having Dylan that day so there would have been a scheduling conflict! But next year I am there!

J is for Jobs

Through out my life I have had a wide variety of jobs. Not always the best jobs to brag about - but they gave me some money in my pocket so I was happy. For instance one of my first jobs was dressing up as a Twinky and standing by the side of the road for a store opening. I thought it was going to be fun - until I saw the costume. NOT FUN! I was a hotel maid for a little. Not very fun either. Especially when you have to clean a room that was used as a honeymoon room - or when baseball players had been staying there. Let's see - I've been a CNA for a long time. Working in TONS of nursing homes.....need I say more. I've been a secretary, file clerk, administrative assistant, and receptionist. And once dabbled in cashiering for Rite Aid. Needless to say I am a well rounded individual!
All my jobs have been interesting - but my newest job as Mom is the best. It's crazy - It's the only job that I have to wake up every night, get peed on, pooped on, thrown up on, sneezed on, coughed on, boogers wiped on.....and I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Thursday, August 23, 2007

I is for Irene

Irene is my middle name. Adalynn Irene Park Thiel! Say that 10 times real quick! ;) Middle names are fun. Once in awhile I've made it "middle-name-day" at my work. Instead of calling each other by our first names we go by our middle names. And if someone doesn't have one.....we get to make one up (evil laugh). Makes for a interesting day - and makes it sound like we are all old ladies. Everyone should try it! :)

H is for Home

This is my home! Nothing spectacular - but I like it. It was actually built in 1926! And you can tell by how the house was designed. It is cozy, not a lot of outlets, small bedrooms, and even smaller closets. It's a up and down duplex - right now we just got our new renters moved in (Thursday) so it feels complete. The bottom apartment is remodled for the most part - and the top part we have been working on......slowly. Ty and I aren't going to call this home forever - maybe just a few more years and then we will either sale - OR - most likely keep it as our rental property and move into or build the house of our dreams! That is the plan right now. We will see though!

G is for Green Bay Packers

Never did I think that people could actually LOVE a game/sport until I went to Wisconsin for the first time. Coming from a state that doesn't have one pro team - and from a family of mostly girls - I never REALLY got into sports until I met Ty. And then I was kind of FORCED to enjoy sports - especially the Green Bay Packers. A few years ago when we went out there for Christmas - Ty took me to a game. We actually got really good seats off of eBay - and we had tons of fun. Here are a few pic's of that cold but fun day!Ty wanted to make sure I got a pic. of the GREAT Brett Favre!
Out side of the stadium!
Trying to stay warm. It gets as cold as Rexburg out there!!!!

F is for Friends

Through out my short life I have felt blessed to have found a handful of true friends. What is a true friend you might ask. Well it is a person that loves you for who you are not what you are - and will always be there no matter the distance, time, or space that might come between you and them. If I could I would post pictures from my high school days because that is where I met most of these true friends of mine. I have moved A LOT through out my life. Mostly when I was younger. So I never got the chance to have a friend that I've known since I was in 1st grade etc. To tell you the truth I am jealous of anyone who stayed in one or two houses while growing up. BUT because I am talking about friends I want to tell you about SOME of my true friends.

NICKY - She happens to be my oldest true friend. 10 years! We met our sophomore year of High School - in our debate class. SHE IS AMAZING. Even though I was the new girl in school she became my friend - and honestly changed my life. Before I met her I was on the wrong track - hadn't gone too far on the wrong track - but she saved me. She taught me that being a nerd was cool! :) In college she would come and kidnap me, blind-fold me, stuff me in the back of her Subaru and do doughnuts in some random parking lot to relieve the pressure of finals! :)
In my eyes she is now an amazing mother and person! She is so strong in standing up for what she believes is right. She is an amazing cook, seamstress, vocalist, and dreamer! I hope to be more like her!

DOROTHY - She came into my life about the same time that Nicky did! Her sense of humor and wild and crazy side always made me smile. And also made it easy to be her friend. When in high school we were on the same dance team. Her perfection in every move she made was awesome. In college she shared the love of snowboarding with me. And stayed by my side (even though I can't remember it) when I fell and hit my head......really hard. She has also blossomed into a incredible mother of 2.5 kids and wife. She is fearless - and I admire her.

KIRSTEN - Has been an amazing friend to me. For a while she and I were connected at the hip. We were practically the same person but in two bodies. BUT then we graduated and our lives separated. She got married - I went to college. I moved away - and she stayed. But we would always call each other and keep up to date on each others lives. I won't lie - she had it a lot harder then I did. She and I have gone through some very hard times together. We have laughed A LOT, cried quite a bit, and talked about life all night long. She is an amazing mother of 2 kids that make me laugh. We have made 1,000 memories together - and hopefully more. And even though we seem to be exact opposites of each other now - I love her. I see the person inside of her - and I'll be friends with her forever.

I would go on about my other true friends. BUT I have to run clean Dylan up, walk the dog, and go take Ty to a Dr's appointment. AND I have about a half hour to do that. When I get time I will write more.

E is for Excitement

Since becoming pregnant and now having a little one to always worry about I feel like my life has been kind of lacking Excitement. To tell you the truth, lately my excitement has been based on how many hours Dylan wants to sleep. (Last night he slept 6 hours!!!!!!) So because of this realization I am going to try and change that. I hate when I feel like a part of my life has gotten in a rut. I like my life to constantly to be moving, growing.
When I was in high school I made a theory - it is called the LITTLE CUP THEORY. If you haven't heard it already this is what it is. In life we have little cups - each of those little cups have labels on them. Such as FUN, SHOPPING, or EXCITEMENT. Those little cups are filled when we have fun or go shopping etc. If we don't fill them - we go crazy. WELL - my excitement cup is almost hitting EMPTY. I have to change that! :) Wish me luck!

D is for Dog

This is my puppy dog Timber! I don't really consider him a dog as much as I consider him a child. It's pretty sad - I know - but he really is a part of our little family. For the longest time while growing up I was a cat person. Didn't really care for dog's too much. <- (side note) I had a bad experiance with one when I was little - that is how I got the scare on my upper lip! BUT then I met and married a man who is allergic to cat's and thinks that they are evil. So we looked for a puppy.......

and I fell in LOVE! It is really nice to have a dog around. It forces me to get going some days. I'll want to sleep in - but then Timber is there to stick his cold nose on my face to remind me that he is ready for his morning walk. Those walks give me energy - they really do! He's smart too - he does tricks, can understand what you're talking about (especially if you say treat or walk), AND he's a protector! I don't know what I would do without him!
