I Can Bring My Baby Home!

After A LOT of procrastinating and a couple of BAD dreams (one of the dreams was about not being able to bring Dylan home) - Ty and I went out and bought the car seat and stroller! I honestly think I was a little in denial that I was going to have a baby - and that's why I put it off for so long. But now that D-Day is only 3 and 1/2 weeks away - I thought I better get the ball rolling! I'm so excited now - and each time I see them I smile!

Now I just need to get a swing and I think I'll be set! :) All set for June 26th or 27th! Not any sooner! Ty is actually going out to Wisconsin this coming weekend for a wedding! My sister Heather is going to stay with me just to make sure I'm ok! It will be sad to not have him around - BUT - I know he'll be having ALOT of fun and he deserves it!

Superwoman has Limits

For all of you out there that know me pretty well - know that I like to be busy. I'm not one to sit around and watch time go by. In fact I have been famous on making myself a little too busy at times and undertaking too many things all at once. I love it though - and I've often called my self Superwoman for doing all of it so well. But today I found out I have limits. (gasp)
Ty and I were all ready to go down to New Mexico for the weekend when today (after only having 4 hours of sleep last night) I started blacking out at work, and having dizzy spells that would last a half hour or so at a time. Everyone was telling me to go home BUT of course I didn't listen. When I did get home it was so bad I was sick. So of course I call my sister (she knows everything ;), and her advise......"Adalynn, why don't you slow down? You are almost 9 months pregnant!" (Of course I had to be talking to her as I was headed to my second job) And it hit me - I am only human - about to give birth to another human - maybe I should slow down. Not totally stop.....but slow down. One of those "ah-ha" moments! So I thought I would share it with all of you - and let all of you know I'm starting to slow down. And yes Superwoman is human and does have limits!

For Nicky!

Ugh! I can't believe I am posting these! But this is Adalynn 8 months pregnant - in all my glory! For my dear friend Nicky! You owe me!

Ty insisted on doing a close up of the belly!
Ugh! The only way I even let these pic's be taken is for the sake of knowing in a few months I'll look back and smile. But right now - ugh!

Babysitting!

So last night my sister Christina and my brother-in-law Ben went to the Gwen Stefani/Akon concert - and while they went - Ty and I helped babysit Conner and Haylee. As you will notice there are no pictures of Haylee - BECAUSE - she was not a very happy baby - let's just put it that way. She really gave Ty and I and our neighbors a upclose and personal look at what it's going to be like with a baby! Eeeeekkkk! Too late to go back now! Just kidding!

This is Ty and Conner - showing off their "guns"! I have no idea what Conner was trying to do - BUT - he wanted his picture taken with his face like this! This is his Elephant he HAD to take a picture of!

ALL and ALL it was a good night! Very eye opening! ;)

The Crib

So this is the crib that we got for Dylan. We got his room painted so it's not a lime green - and now it just sits there. I walk by his room every time I head to the bathroom (which is a lot;) and it is like a haunting reminder that in not too long there is going to be a baby in there. :) <- I'm so excited!
Other then that Ty and I spent yesturday up in Salt Lake at the Genealogy Library. Yeah makes us sound REALLY old but it was fun. We worked on his Grandma VanCuyk's side - and learned a little Dutch. We also went and looked at a book that was written about the Thiel side - it was a lot of fun. We had a lot of the information we found - BUT we also found some missing childern that will be happy to be with their families again I'm sure! We still have lots of work to do!
Just thought I would post this pic. of Timber - He LOVES to look out the window and watch EVERYTHING. Especially the neighbor cats that like to walk by and tease him.

Happy Easter

WoW! I am soooo sorry for those of you that check my blog! I have been a major slacker and for that there is no excuse. Spring is here - as most of you know - and that means a lot of things. 1 - Everyone is getting married and 2 - Lot and Lots of yard work.

Since Ty and I are married the first doesn't really apply to us. BUT the second is consuming our weekends. As most of you know we moved into our house in September. Not leaving a lot of time for us to get our yard the way we would like it. So this spring we have found out that our yard needs A LOT of TLC. My first surprise is that I have tulips

Second surprise is that I have lots and lots and LOTS of dandilions. When I was little I loved to play with them - now I despise them.

Timber is loving being outside more - he liked the snow - liked to eat the snow I should say. But he didn't like to get cold.

Here is a pic of a slice of me Ryan, Haylee, Preston and Conner - They came over last weekend to help us take some things to the dump!

As far as Ty and I we are keeping busy - my stomach is getting bigger and June seems to be sneaking up on us WAY too fast. I've started going to the dr. every two weeks now. Pretty soon Summer will be here and so will Dylan! I'm excited and scared at the same time. It's a first timer thing I'm sure :)

I promise to keep up on my blogging better - Happy Easter

Timber is just too cute some times! This is him practicing "sit"!

Who could say no to a face like this! ;)

This is Kirsten and her puppy Hayley! She is only 16 weeks old and about as big as Timber. Next time they meet Hayley will be twice as big as Timber!

Genealogy....I am doing it!

So lately I have cut down on my second job, found out we are going to Mexico in November, done A LOT of baby shopping, started Timber in a Dog Training class, AND have helped Ty start doing his Genealogy. It has been really fun! We got all the information that Ty's mom had on her side (Van Cuyk) and have just gone CRAZY! His mom's family is from the Netherlands - and from Ty we have been able to trace back 8 generations! In a week from this Sat we are taking a trip up to the Genealogy Center in SLC to find out more details - but WoW!
As far as all the other stuff I've been up to - it's been keeping me busy! We ordered Dylan's crib - and have started cleaning everything out of his room. Timber LOVES his new training class - I'll have to take a picture of him. Sooooo Cute! Mexico - we are going to go to Mazatlan with Ty's family on a family vacation! It's not till November BUT we are already counting down the days! AND yeah - things have been going good in our neck of the woods. When I get home I'll download some of our latest pic's!

I know, I know...

K - so it's been a little while! Sorry Nicky! After reading your blog I have been inspired! ;) I swear I have been busy! Promise! To start with last weekend we had visitors. It was fun - and.....interesting! Kirsten came down from Idaho for a day with her new boyfriend Dusty and her cute doggy Hayley! Timber was in heaven having another dog in the house. That same weekend my cousin Rebecca from Logan came and spent the night - so our little home was full - and that felt great! That was my President's day weekend.

This last weekend I was soooo mad. My little nephew Ryan had his birthday party. (He turned 10 - isn't that crazy) Any who - all he wanted was a Tamagotchi v-4. It is like a gigga pet (for all you old timers!) Any ways - I searched all of Provo - only to find that everyone was sold out! Oh I was hot! Made me start thinking how it's going to be when I have Dylan - and I go searching for toys.....ahhhh!

Other then that I've been busy getting bigger - and working! ;)

OH OH OH - I found out some very disturbing news today. Daylight saving is coming early this year. March 11th early! Isn't that sooooo wrong!

K - so before this blog get's any weirder I'm going to post a picture of Dylan and sign off!

Happy Valentine's Day

I love my husband! He is the cutest! And since today is Valentine's - I can say that and people don't roll their eyes. We had a nice dinner together and then watched the movie he got for me Phantom of the Opera! What a cutie!
Other then that we have been busy - Ty working and me working! Poor Timber!I'm going to be quitting my second job here in a little so that will free up some more time - especially on the weekends so we can come and visit everyone! This weekend we are going to start work on the nursery! And with the long weekend we might have some vistors! Yahoo- I love visitors!

It's a...

Sooo Ty and I weren't going to find out what we were going have. BUT we changed our minds. The suspense was killing us and we weren't finding too much "gender neutral" things. So we found out and IT'S A BOY! We were hoping it was a boy and I'd been dreaming it was a boy - so for our hopes and dreams to come true was exciting!

The Baby Bump

So incase everyone was wondering what I look like pregnant.....you needn't wait any longer. This is me 5 months along! And that bump is just big enough that it makes me uncomfortable in everything I wear, ugh! And that baby is sooooo active! For a while I was thinking that I would never feel the baby move and then BAM, not a fludder, not a twitch, but a big kick directed at getting out! It's been fun though feeling Baby (since we aren't finding out if it is a boy or girl that is the name we've choosen).
Just wanted to post this real quick - more pic's will come of Ty and the dog! Ty has a "baby bump" of his own! ;)

What To Do With The Nursery

Here are some pic's of gender neutral nurseries for the baby! I want to know what ya'all think - and which one I should pick. I don't think I'll do the exact colors but something like these......maybe!I thought this first one would look good - cause we have wood floors!
This one is cute! I don't know about the blue..... but it is a good idea!

I'm not a big fan of the green....but I love the ceiling.

-k- so tell me - 1,2, or 3.....or a combination! Thanks friends!

UPDATE!

WoW! The week seriously went by too fast! Lots of things have been happening around these here parts! :) I've been working my 2 jobs - which isn't as bad as it sounds. Only bad part is that I have to wake up around 5 in the morning on the weekends - but I'm thinking it is just good practice for when we have the baby! ALSO - this last week - I put a new laminant floor in the downstairs kitchen for our renters that moved in on Saturday. I think here pretty soon I'll be able to put carpenter on my resume! :)
As far as Ty is going - his blood just won't thin out! Which means he is house bound. Poor guy is getting so bored - but has a great attitude knowing that he'll be up and walking around in no time. He has 3 appointments on Friday so we'll be able to tell everyone more news then.
Other then that - life is good - we are starting to plan how we are going to decorate the baby's room - and how we will rearrange everything else in the house. Lots of projects that is for sure.
I'll try and get more pic's up of how things are looking around here. Until then ttfn.

Crazy, Scary Weekend

This weekend was one that won't be forgotten! Other then it being the start of a new year - Ty got a real big scare. On Saturday he had started having chest pain that would last about a hour and then go away. At first he didn't want to go to the hospital - but after telling him that chest pain is bad no matter what - we agreed that if it happened again we would go to the e.r. 4 a.m Sunday morning - it started again. At the e.r. they found that it was a blood clot in his right lower lung. It is a huge thing - and all the nurses kept on telling us how lucky Ty was to be alive and told him he had cheated death. He was in for 2 days but is now home where I want him to stay! He is on medicine to thin his blood. One of the meds - would have cost $502 if we didn't have insurance! Thank goodness we have insurance - it cut the cost to almost nothing. We have A LOT to be greatful for this new year! And Ty made a promise that we wouldn't ring in 2008 the same way we rang in 2007!

D-Day

He's ALIVE! :) Ty made it through possibly the worst day of his life! It was a LONG day but we both survived!
IT all started with going to the surgical center at 8:30. The doc must have been behind cause we sat in Pre-Op for 3 hours! Once they took him back his surgery was 2 and 1/2 hours and then recovery was another 2 and 1/2 hours!
BEST part about the day was that I found out that my husband is even more funnier when he is highly medicated!
Next stop is physical therapy on Friday - which will probably be is 2nd worst day ever for him! I'll keep everyone updated on all the happenings!

Winter Wonderland

This is what we woke up to this morning! It's so fun to look at - not so fun to drive in!

Timber LOVES the snow! I had to drag him back inside!

Aunty A

Yup! I'm a Aunty again! My sister Christina had her baby! Haylee Marie Hodges was born December 11, 2006 at 3:15pm weighing only 5 lbs 13oz! She's a small one but sure is cute! Here are a few pic's of her - wearing a hat I bought her!

She is sooo small - I love it! It will be fun to love her and watch her grow!
She has a thing with her hands! They kinda got in the way of this shot! :)

I Heart Christmas

Next to my birthday - Christmas it my most favoritest holiday! Just Kidding! But not about the Christmas thing! I love the feeling of making other's happy by giving to them - I love the eggnog - I love the smell of a Christmas Tree - I love everything.
This weekend was my works Christmas party. We went up to Solider Hollow in Heber and went Tubing - then had a really nice dinner.
Last year we did the same thing - but it was so much more slick this year! Made it a lot more fun!

We had lots of fun and to keep in the Christmas spirit we decided to get a tree and hang our stockings

This is our first real tree! In the past we have had a fake one - but this year since we are staying here we wanted to make it really special!

Here are our stockings - I made sure that Timber got one too!

Hope everyone else is having fun getting into the Christmas Spirit!

Fun Week

This week was really busy for us and really fun.... For the most part. On Monday night I got to go with Ben, Christina and the Boys to a Siblings class at the hospital. It was just a class to teach the kids about babies and what is going to happen when my sister has my little neice Haylee!
It was SO cute the questions that they were asking. And especially how they described how the baby got food inside mommy's belly. Taylor said that there was a "straw thing that goes into the babies mouth" :) So fun!

They got to practice holding the baby too! Oh so cute!

Friday we found out that Ty is going in for surgery on the 20th of Dec. To get his ACL fixed. After that he will be off of work for 6 weeks and can't lift over 25 lbs for 3 months. It will be interesting to say the least! Kind of cramp plans for Christmas and New Years - but it is better to get this over and done with as soon as possible!

Saturday my sister Heather graduate from Hygenist School! She will get her license in February and move down with Lance and the kids to Arizona! We'll be sure and visit them where it is nice and warm!

Tonight we are having dinner with my friend Megan who is also going to a warmer place! She'll leave next Sat. for California!

Congrats to Meggs

My good friend Megan got engaged over the weekend to Chris Jackson. They've set the date for May in the Bountiful, UT temple. She met Chris 2 months ago - thru his brother setting them up over the phone. Chris lives in California - and because of that Megan is moving in a couple of weeks. It will be sad not to see her as much! But I'll get to see her when she get's married! Congrats!

Thanksgiving's Done on To Christmas

So we survived Thanksgiving! It was a lot of fun (and i forgot my camera) - we went over to my cousin KayLynn's house in Eagle Mountain. My Aunt Kayleen was there along with my Uncle Neal and 4 of their kids and all of their kids, kids. In total there was about 40 people when all was said and done. Made for a tight quarters - but it was fun catching up with everyone. It was really nice cause Ty got off of work a little early and got to have some turkey!
Black Friday was fun too. I was invited to do with my cousins - BUT - they were waking up at 4:30 in the morning- and that didn't sound too fun after being up so late. So I passed - but woke up a little late and still got a lot of good deals. One of the best things is Ty and I got a microwave - it was only $35 and we got a little AM/FM radio thing that you can hook up your ipod to. So I call the day a success!
Now we are just trying to recover from everything - and get ready for the next week when we have to go back to reality! :(

Below is the picture I promised from the Hot Date last week. Ty painted Frosty and I painted Santa.

Torn ACL

Ty just got the results back from his MRI today - the dr. at first didn't think it was a ACL tear - but it is! ALSO looks like there are some other things wrong. So next stop is the Orthopedic Surgeon! Wish us luck!

Hot Date!

This last Saturday Ty and I didn't have much going on - so out of the blue he told me to go get dressed in my most favorite outfit - do my hair and make-up cause we were going out. I had no idea what we were going to do - but we went out on a date! FIRST he took me to this place called Color Me Mine - it is a little shop that you can color ceramic peices and they fire them and gloss them for you! Kinda cute.

I forgot to take a pic. of my ceramic - but we get them on Wed. so I will take a pic and post it.

THEN he took me to Barnes and Noble's and we looked around - picked out some Christmas books and read them to see which one we want for our Christmas book that we will read each Christmas Eve. We narrowed it down to the Polar Express and this one.

We will see - we still have a month to figure it out!

But it was fun to get out and feel human again! :)

New Brother-in-law

Yup - I'm getting a new brother-in-law. My sister Lucretia that just got off her mission from Arizona got engaged to her boyfriend that just got off his mission to France. It's been a little crazy - but they asked me to take their engagement pic's. I took one with my digital camera so I could post it. I'll post some others as soon as I get them developed.
Other then that - nothing too exciting happened this week. I did get this pic of Ty and Elwood!! We went to Fudruckers - and I couldn't help myself - it was just too cute!

When Spring Comes

Ty and I are going to be really busy when spring comes. We really didn't focus too hard on the yard since winter has been so close. But when the weather gets warmer - our yard is getting a make over.
Here are some pic's of our back yard.
This is the barn we have in the back. Has two levels - and we aren't quite sure what we should do with it.

Here is the barn from the alley!

Here is the dog kennel we have. They built a little house in there for a small dog - but Ty and I didn't know how many dogs have used it - so we are going to take it down in the spring. We are also going to put up new fenceing around our whole property.

This is a little spot we discovered underneath a mind blowing amount of weeds - this is right behind the shed at the end of our driveway - in the spring we are going to put a hot tub there.

Any ways, as far as us - we are doing good. I've started going to a spinning class - which oh my - if you ever need to be worked - go to one of those. Other then that we are just keeping busy with life.
